Sex and the City Party Inspirations!

Hello! It's been a while my lovely readers, but I am FULL of ideas! May is officially Sex and the City month here on Party Obsessed! All month long I am going to share ideas, inspirations, recipes, and real parties!

I am having a Sex and the City party for the release of either the second movie or it's DVD debut. (I haven't quite decided yet)

My first inspiration as I was thinking about this party was Carrie's re-decorated apartment from the first movie! I love the combination of bright turquoise, deep plum, and crisp white edges all pulled together with eclectic accessories!

These photos of Sarah Jessica Parker have recently been released, the photos were snapped while she was shooting print ads in New York City to promote the Sex and The City Movie Sequel! Only Carrie Bradshaw could pull off some of these looks!Enjoy fellow Sex and the City fans!

Sex and The City Movie Sequel

I don't know how many of you are Sex and The City fans out there...but I am a BIG ONE! I didn't actually start watching the series until it was already over, I had to catch up with DVD. BUT THEN....I fell in LOVE! The series is so clever ( probably because Carrie Bradshaw is a writer) and fashionable. Now the movie, don't get me wrong was really good. HOWEVER, it was nothing in comparison to the series. I have big curiosities about the sequel, and of course since I had a party for the premiere of the original Sex and the City Movie, I thought I might have a sequel party too! The official premiere date for the sequel is May 28th, 2010  , and so naturally that will also be the date of my Sex and The City Party The Sequel! Sex and The City Makes Me SO Happy

So I think that it is definatley safe to say that I have a obsession with Sex and The City! I love the clever writing and quirky charcters. No show makes me want to go to New York more than Sex and The City! They even have Sex and The City tours in NYC!This show is responsible for popularizing many things that are well known and well loved today, like the nameplate necklace, Manolo Blahnik (just because you can't afford somthing doesn't mean that you can't love it) and they ever-popular comopoltans.So cherished by the multitudes, and also missed after it went off the air in 2004, Sex and The City has even become a movie!So if you love Sex and The City and you love planning parties as much as I do, then combine these two great loves and have the girls over for a viewing party! Just don't forget the cosmopolitans!

Sex And The City Party

For the release of The Sex And The City Movie I decided to throw a premiere party at a friend's town house. It made sense since I am OBSESSED with hosting parties, and also OBSESSED with Sex And The City! The concept is hot pink, black, and leopard print (sexy huh?) For decorations I made my friend's entertainment center into a "closet" with shoes and accessories, and I lined the top with shopping bags. I created a bar covered in hot pink velvet where comopolitans and Absolut Hunks were served. The food all had a very New York feel to it , and most of the menu was things that the ladies eat in the show. Even an "I love you" cookie cake like the one Robert gave Miranda.After we ate and drank for a couple hours and watched the final two episodes of the series, it was off to the movie!So much fun!This theme is very addaptable for a bachelorette party, or lingerie shower too!!
