Impromptu Party Decorations

A few days before the weekend I was asked to help decorate a friend's going away party. Her favorite colors are green and blue but she also had this clear pitcher with green and blue flowers on it....this served as my inspiration! I went Target and picked up some tissue paper in bright blue and greens and also hot glued ribbon onto some plain white chinese lanterns. These looked very cute over the food table. Plaid napkins were purchased to fit the theme, and I found some terrific scrapbooking paper that had blues and greens and also this funky flower print to use in the decor.The drinks were poured, the food was served, and it was party time!

If you didn't know her from Almost Famous, then you most certainly would recognize her from her role opposite Matthew Mcchonaughey in How To Lose A Guy In Ten Days, this movie brought her to the next level of stardom. She is now a household name, with a trademark "hippie chic" style that she demonstrates on the red carpet. This fresh faced starlet is going to keep us laughing for years to come.

Sex And The City Party

For the release of The Sex And The City Movie I decided to throw a premiere party at a friend's town house. It made sense since I am OBSESSED with hosting parties, and also OBSESSED with Sex And The City! The concept is hot pink, black, and leopard print (sexy huh?) For decorations I made my friend's entertainment center into a "closet" with shoes and accessories, and I lined the top with shopping bags. I created a bar covered in hot pink velvet where comopolitans and Absolut Hunks were served. The food all had a very New York feel to it , and most of the menu was things that the ladies eat in the show. Even an "I love you" cookie cake like the one Robert gave Miranda.After we ate and drank for a couple hours and watched the final two episodes of the series, it was off to the movie!So much fun!This theme is very addaptable for a bachelorette party, or lingerie shower too!!
