I love Cathy Riva. Here is one of my favorite episodes of the show she used to host on Discovery Home called "Party Girl".The ideas she comes up with for this Mad Hatter Tea Party are too cute! I especially love the use of the wheat grass as a table runner! Enjoy!

Sex and The City Makes Me SO Happy

So I think that it is definatley safe to say that I have a obsession with Sex and The City! I love the clever writing and quirky charcters. No show makes me want to go to New York more than Sex and The City! They even have Sex and The City tours in NYC!This show is responsible for popularizing many things that are well known and well loved today, like the nameplate necklace, Manolo Blahnik (just because you can't afford somthing doesn't mean that you can't love it) and they ever-popular comopoltans. So cherished by the multitudes, and also missed after it went off the air in 2004, Sex and The City has even become a movie! So if you love Sex and The City and you love planning parties as much as I do, then combine these two great loves and have the girls over for a viewing party! Just don't forget the cosmopolitans!

The Nice Ice Wine Cooler

Ever wish there was another way to keep your wine cool when you are having a party other than to keep it in a bucket with ice?Well what if the bucket WAS MADE OF ICE?? Perpetualkid.com is selling these two piece sets for only 23.99! fill the mold with berries or food coloring as well as water to create a unique look to match your party! Or you could just fill it with distilled water and add a stunning touch to your next event! Whatever suites your fancy! Who says that style can't be functional?

Game Night!

I LOVE game nights! I am a huge dork and I think that staying in and just playing board games with your friends is one of the funnest ways to spend the evening! So I thought...why not have a party with an awesome "game night" theme!I would stray from the "usual" black and red "card suites" theme however. Even if you invite a larger amount of people , there are plenty of games that are made for large groups. So fun!...I wonder how hard it would be to design an invitation that looks like a Twister spin board?

4 oranges - 2 juiced and 2 cut into rounds

2 lemons cut into thin rounds

Shear Genius Party!

Here they are! Pictures from the Shear Genius party this weekend! Amber ( the beauty school graduate ) was thrilled to see a room filled with pink. Decorations included "blingy" everything... hair shears and combs, makeup compact "picture frames" with pictures of Amber, serving trays, water bottles, even the forks were dripping with bling! A french memo board was placed by the entrance so that Amber's family and friends could leave her a congratulatory message.Hot pink roses sprouted from curvy pink vases, and all the guests enjoyed the pink and white candy buffet! Amber was presented with a hot pink stylist apron to wear at the party. while all the other party guests were asked to wear black and white. As the guests left they could take a pack of pink Extra brand gum from a pink basket with a sign that says "Thanks for adding EXTRA fun!" Everyone had a fantastic time sampling the candy bar, and sipping pink"Shear Genius" cocktails from pink martini glasses. Thankyou so much Shawna for taking these absolutley amazing pictures!

Inspired By A Napkin

Lately I have been playing with the idea of a camp-IN. Usually people camp-OUT but I am not what you would call "outdoorsy" so I thought that maybe I could put my own spin on it and create a party that others with my same love of air-conditioning could enjoy as well. I saw this cocktail napkin and had instant inspiration....I will develop this some more and then share!

Impromptu Party Decorations

A few days before the weekend I was asked to help decorate a friend's going away party. Her favorite colors are green and blue but she also had this clear pitcher with green and blue flowers on it....this served as my inspiration! I went Target and picked up some tissue paper in bright blue and greens and also hot glued ribbon onto some plain white chinese lanterns. These looked very cute over the food table. Plaid napkins were purchased to fit the theme, and I found some terrific scrapbooking paper that had blues and greens and also this funky flower print to use in the decor. The drinks were poured, the food was served, and it was party time!
